Digable Planets

ALL AGES   w/ The Soul Rebels    Digable Planets burst onto the music scene in 1993 with their Grammy-winning single, “Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)”. Made up of Ishmael Butler (“Butterfly”), Craig Irving (“Doodlebug”) and Mary Ann Vieira (“Ladybug Mecca”), the trio carved out a unique style of jazz-informed Hip Hop. Shortly after, Digable Planets followed up with their debut album, Reachin’ (A New Refutation of Time And Space), an ambitious offering that Pitchfork praised as “a world within a world, complete with its own language and monuments.” The group celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Reachin’ in 2023.    Melding Jazz samples, and complex rhymes that touched on everything from the nuances of city life (Where I’m From) to abortion rights (La Femme Fetal), Reachin’ was a rich and vibrant artistic statement as well as a huge commercial success (RIAA certified gold).   Digable Planets immediately followed up with Blowout Comb, a bold and colorful meditation on Black liberation. While the album did not initially reach the immediate commercial successes of Reachin’, the album has aged beautifully, influencing future generations of Hip Hop heads, young Jazz musicians and Afrofuturists. The trio spent the 2000s establishing their own individual creative voices with Butler’s Cherrywine and Shabazz Palaces projects, Mecca’s work with BROOKZILL! and Irving as “Cee Knowledge” leading Cee Knowledge & The Cosmic FunkOrchestra.   In 2015, the group embarked upon a string of wildly successful live shows and has been very active as a tight touring unit ever since. In 2017, they released Digable Planets Live, a live album that showcases many gems from the group’s catalog as well as the trio’s skill at rocking the crowd with a live band. A pioneering act that continues to cast a wide-ranging, genre-bending influence, Digable Planets have left an indelible mark on music. More than 30 years after their debut, their music still shines, and the iconic group continues to bring theircelebrated stage show to excited crowds around the world.

Pouya – THEY COULD NEVER MAKE ME TOUR

ALL AGES WELCOME   w/ Freddie Dredd & Cursed    ABOUT POUYA   Pouya broke through with the Baby Bone EP highlight “Get Buck,” a track so unrelenting and combative that itlacked space for a hook. The title of its 2013 parent release referred to the rapper’s nickname and love for BoneThugs-N-Harmony.   While the influence of that pioneering melodic rap group can be sensed throughout Pouya’s discography, the Miami native’s highly personal and creative lyricism, combined with his easy adaptability to the wildly varyingapproaches of his producers, have made him stand out all along. From 2016 through 2018, Pouya’s UndergroundUnderdog, Drop Out of School (with Fat Nick), and Five Five each hit   Billboard charts, a period during which the rapper also scored with the Ghostemane collaboration “1000Rounds.” By the time that single went gold, in 2021, Pouya’s catalog had expanded with additional independentprojects such as The South Got Something to Say and Blood Was Never Thick as Water.Born and raised in Miami, Kevin Pouya started recording in his late teens, forming a duo with childhood friend FatNick dubbed the Buffet Boys. Pouya’s first couple mixtapes were released in 2012.   The EP Baby Bone arrived the next year, and with it came “Get Buck,” which multiplied his audience by a highfactor. Pouya responded with another EP, Gookin’, recorded with the Cool Kids’ Sir Michael Rocks. After a clutch ofEPs and tapes that included South Side Suicide (with Suicideboys), Pouya went on something of a commercial hotstreak. In 2016, Underground Underdog became his first of three recordings to register on Billboard’s IndependentAlbums chart, and it also cracked the Billboard 200.   Drop Out of School and Five Five entered the independent chart over the next couple years, and it was during thistime that the non-album single “1000 Rounds” — a duo cut with Ghostemane — became one of Pouya’s career highpoints. Retaining his artistic independence and regional pride, Pouya in 2019 offered The South Got Something toSay, his third official album, containing the chest-rattling Juicy J collaboration “Six Speed,” and the likes ofGhostemane and Rocci among the other featured artists. A sequel to Drop Out of School was among Pouya’s 2020output. The next year brought Blood Was Never Thick as Water. The rapper’s fourth album balanced atmospherictracks such as “Walk In” and “Leave Me Alone” with rumblers like “Wig Split,” featuring Denzel Curry. The four-years-old “1000 Rounds” was certified gold that October. Pouya would later release his fifth studio album in 2023called “Gator” which featured Yung Gravy and Ramirez. In 2024 he would go on the “Greyday Tour” with theSuicideboys and was one of the direct supporters on the tour. During the tour he would release his sixth studioalbum “They Could Never Make Me Hate You” which led to the announcement of his 2025 tour “They Could NeverMake Me Tour” with Freddie Dredd.
