Following a successful run of critically acclaimed albums with the Marcus King Band, Greenville, South Carolina native Marcus King made his solo debut with the GRAMMY®-nominated El Dorado in 2020, followed by Young Blood (2022) and Mood Swings (2024). King is now reuniting with his long time live band for the first time since 2018’s Carolina Confessions on the forthcoming Darling Blue, recorded at the iconic Capricorn Studios alongside GRAMMY®-winning producer/engineer Eddie Spear. The album features Noah Cyrus, Billy Strings, Kaitlin Butts and more, with co-writes from Midland and Lainey Wilson among other notable names. Many of the songs across the album pay homage to King’s South Carolina roots and deep appreciation for his home state. Darling Blue is set for release September 26 on American Records/Republic Records. Additionally, King’s beloved Marcus King Band Family Reunion music festival will return this summer in Charleston, SC. He’ll be touring internationally throughout the year, hitting the road with Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson and Eric Church in the U.S.
The Marcus King Band is led by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Marcus King. Raised in Greenville, South Carolina, United States, King was brought up on the blues, playing shows as a pre-teen sideman with his father, the fellow bluesman Marvin King. The Marcus King Band released their debut album, Soul Insight on October 30, 2015 on Warren Haynes' Evil Teen Records. Soul Insight reached No. 8 on the Billboard Blues Albums Chart. The band's second full-length LP and first album for Fantasy Records, The Marcus King Band, was released October 7, 2016.
